Wat is the origin of your farm ?

My parents has still had some pigs but it's only when my wife was pregnant with my first daughter that we started in there. She began to take care of some sows that we had bought to an animal dealer during her maternity leave. Then we needed a boar. We went to a show in our region, where we entered in contact with Xavier Paris and we bought our first boar. Then we bought some registered sows, and we started to participate to shows.

How many sows do you have right now ?

We have around hundred sows in our farm. These are essentially white sows used in crossbreeding to produce slaughterpigs, but we are breeding too around fifteen purebred Piétrain stress sensitive or resistant sows.

What is the main goal in your selection ?

In the past we have selected mainly for muscular conformation. Now we are looking for animals with better growth performances.

What are the other point of attention in your farm?

We pay close attention to inbreeding in our mating choices. Additionally it's important for a boar to have good feet and legs. Without that, they do not remain in the herd.

What is your greatest pride as a pig breeder?

We are very proud to have sold boars to different breeders, and to have won some prices on shows, while we had only little knowledge of the world of animal selection some years before.
