Selection of the animals

A Piétrain commission has been set up within the awé asbl. It includes all the active Piétrain breeders.

This committee define the selection objectives of the Belgian Piétrain.

It chooses the boars entering the protectionprogram as well as the promotional axes of the Belgian Piétrain.

Once the boars are selected, they are placed in quarantine after passing the necessary veterinary examinations.
