The quarantine
The quarantine barn provided by the province of Brabant Wallon is located in Wavre.
Boars selected by the Piétrain Commission must have negative blood tests from less than 30 days for: classical swine fever, Aujezsky, Brucellosis and PRRS. Once the boars have entered the quarantine, they remain there for 1 month after which new blood samples are taken. They continue then on their way to the insemination center of the province of Liège in Argenteau.
